SO A group from Bonks Hill in Hertfordshire has asked Weston Town Council to have a bronze stature put up of Jeffrey Archer. One famous person who did leave his mark on our town is Henry Butt, a self-made local businessman who came to Weston as a teenager from Langport. Within a few years, he had hired a horse and cart and laid the foundations of his prosperous carriers business. He was a JP, a county councillor and a millionaire who gave away vast sums to charity. In my book Henry Butt is a worthy winner and I hope Mayor John Ley-Morgan's think tank committee will put this plan forward beside writer Jeffrey Archer, John Cleese, and Alfred Leete.
