I AM over 75 years old and did my national service from 1950-52. In July, 1950, I met Jeffrey or Geoffrey Whitaker, who came from Weston-super-Mare. He was the owner of a pocket watch called Big Ben and for getting on parade, or at meal times, we referred to Big Ben. Can you locate Big Ben or Geoffrey? I hope they are both still ticking.I did my basic training at Devizes and was in the Royal Army Pay Corps, so Geoffrey should be about my age. I lost track when I was posted to Hong Kong.
