I HAVE just finished reading an article published in last week's Mercury about a young pregnant woman who had trouble after a driver of a First bus did not pay attention whilst driving.

I would like my concerns to be made public as I have had two recent run-ins with first buses.

I am 35 weeks pregnant and on crutches and was recently nearly hit by a First driver who decided to drive through a red light at the crossing near Tesco. I assumed it was a one-off so said nothing.

I then had to catch a number 7 bus and was appalled by the attitude of the driver because I had no smaller change than 10 to pay for the two tickets costing 5.80. His driving was also very careless. He was very heavy on the accelerating and far too late on the braking, making me jolt in my seat which is very painful.

I have not complained to First bus on these occasions but I can assure you and them that any further incidents will be referred to First and negligent driving reported to the police.
