DESPITE all of the objections to the Bell Inn/Cromwell Restaurant being demolished and converted to a supermarket site, be it large or small, North Somerset Council planners have approved the proposal.

Perhaps they have given in because they fear the threat of litigation. As there are no friends in business, I say go ahead and let the applicant sue. We the Council Tax payers would pick up the bill, so that would make the applicant more than welcome in Congresbury - I think not!
Give up this notion before it goes any further, and instead use the site for social housing, which is more needed than another supermarket which, should it get built, I personally would boycott and, I would urge other villagers to follow suit.
