AS THE date for the hearing of the planning application of the Boot development of the Tropicana draws near, so the time is running out for the 16,000 people who have objected to it, to make their objections known where it matters.I think our council has gone too far down the road to agreeing to this monstrosity being built to back out now but it would be nice to know that 16,000 objections have had some effect if the Beach Lawns, the promenade and Marine Parade could be saved from the developers! It is just beyond belief that a car park on the Beach Lawns could even be considered! What would all the events that take place on the lawns do if this big slice of the lawns were given over to cars?Would Heli-days and other events like it have to be cancelled? I don't think our hoteliers and business people would be very pleased with that! These events bring big profits to the town. Have our councillors considered this? It doesn't look like it!PAT WILSON (MRS) - Underhill Drive, Uphill
