Officers and members have spent a great deal of time working on it and it is personally a great disappointment .However this recession is going on longer and deeper than we ever imagined six or seven moths ago and there is simply no end in sight. The final straw was the change in legislation.
I understand that Mike Bell has asked for my head, but that is a childish response and we are not going to give up. This is a prime seafront leisure site and I still believe it will come good in the end, especially with the rest of the seafront being upgraded.
In the meantime we hope to concentrate on tidying up the frontage and making use of the existing buildings to good purpose, pending someone else coming forward with a practical solution.
