I HAVE just spent a very happy few days in Weston - the town of my birth and full of memories for me. My family and I went for a long walk on the sands, starting at the Uphill end, and I was shocked by what I saw. A huge swathe of beach was cordoned off, apparently out of bounds for pedestrians, so that just two people could do some kind of kite-assisted activity. The arithmetic of it seemed all wrong. I am all in favour of a policy of inclusiveness, but if people insist on following such a difficult and selfish hobby, then they should surely provide their own space, without spoiling such a wonderful stretch of beach for the vast majority.RICHARD MARQUISSCliffhill Lane, Notts.
