IT WAS good to see Councillor Roz Willis does feel for her constituents about the lack of safety of no footpaths and the volume of motor vehicles on the road systems of Old Worle. I wish other councillors felt the same.Residents of the Olde Worle Residents' Association have campaigned since the early 90s, at the beginning of the housing developments that now surround us. All we got were promises with very little action. Now you seem to be more concerned with Worle High Street and discussing the problems with retailers and some residents who live close to the High Street who have a different agenda. When the housing developments began there was a large pot of money set aside for highway improvements in Old Worle, which I suspect has been frittered away on less important road improvements in North Somerset. Please, councillors, focus and spend our money wisely on the important issues. Plans and letters are in your files. Look and refresh your memories. A comment made on the radio by Councillor John Crockford-Hawley stated the importance of through roads having footpaths. Why has it not applied to Old Worle? It is not a country area but an urban area with high volumes of traffic and the Government is encouraging us to walk and not drive.NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
