WHAT a wonderful idea to read on the front page of last week's Weston & Somerset Mercury how a 24-hour helpline for Westonians in distress has been started by the newly formed Community Bikers.

I fully agree with South Ward resident Paul Doolan who came up with this idea.
There seems to be a void in our society that no-one knows their neighbours anymore.
I believe this idea with our leather knights on motorbikes offering to battle injustice and fight for the little guy will have a wonderful effect on the neighbourhood, especially our elderly people and disabled ones in the town. And be a success in beating crime and also building up a good relationship between the police and the community.
So lets all salute our good Samaritans on motorbikes for caring about our world.
Who I believe will ride high in our town and hope more members will rally round and join the gang doing good.
