THANKS to the efforts of a concerned resident of Hutton Park who has given up his leisure time to stand in the rain outside of the communal refuse site, we are now being informed that North Somerset Council is planning to close the entrance to Aisecombe Way from the Hutton Moor roundabout, leaving the only entrance into Aisecombe Way from Herluin Way.It is acknowledged that at times Aisecombe Way can be dangerous but this is mainly caused by the indiscriminate parking of the persons working in the area and also the overspill from the various car companies parking their vehicles that they have for sale. The danger will increase when the new retail park opens next year.Surely North Somerset should look further into this matter before giving it the usual rubber stamp and causing yet another bone of contention with residents who use the facilities in Aisecombe Way.One way the congestion and danger could be resolved would be to paint double yellow lines on the road and make provision for businesses in the area to have adequate parking facilities.Parking should have been taken into consideration when planning permission was first given for the business properties or were they more interested in getting the planning through and the subsequent financial return with rates, etc?GEOFF BEAVEN - South Lawn close, Locking
