I AM writing as a law abiding citizen and pensioner to tell you that I have written to the leader of North Somerset Council to complain of this year's council tax increase of 4.9 per cent over twice the rate of inflation. Admittedly it is an improvement on the past four years of Conservative rule. I also beg to point out that councillors' allowances rose by 'over 75 per cent' in the same period. These are the councillors for whom you voted. None of them are to be trusted! I urge all like-mined people to write letters of protest against this over inflationary council tax increase.D STANLEY - Castle Hill, Banwell
