SO OUR town councillors have voted for a marina and breakwater. It might as well be made of marzipan, because they have no intention whatsoever of building it. An enormous sea wall, higher than Knightstone, a mile long, stretching from the Grand Pier round to Birnbeck Pier? An expenditure of hundreds of millions of pounds, just to save a few crumbling and failing hotels. No, the marina and breakwater are just words. Political red herrings in a purely personal rebellion by Weston Town Council against North Somerset Council. Our town council is seven years old. I wish it a happy birthday, let's give it a breakwater, made of marzipan, with seven candles on it.M J ROGERSBaker Street, Weston
