After reading all the letters about the pool and the halls I can't believe that the council really doesn't seem to know what they are doing. The pool itself has stood for years and years and is a well- known landmark, yet they want to get rid of it and probably replace it with something that will take a lifetime to build, (going on past 'master plans') for it to become yet another eyesore like certain other buildings they have been so keen on adding to Portishead. How long have these people lived in Portishead? And surely if they have lived here for many years, they themselves know what these places mean to us, more than thos who have lived here more than a nano second! It doesn't matter how much they try and sugar coat their campaigns with their words. I am yet to hear, see or experience anything in the last few years that has been a benefit to the people of the town that there hasn't been a letter of complaint or a petition set up about. It always seems to fall on deaf ears. The council would stop getting people's backs up if they actually listened to what people said and did something about what is fast becoming known as 'old Portishead'.
