I live in Sandford and often help my son to do his paper round. On many occasions I have heard the sound of a car as it approaches the Greenhill Lane end of Sandford and proceeds to speed past me. The reason, the sight of a 'National Speed Limit' sign. This car is still in a 30mph speed limit so I always use the 'slow down' hand signal as it goes past - but to little avail. One car sped past at the same point three times in one week.

I can assure you a fast car in a residential area can be quite frightening when it is dark at this time of year.

I cannot understand why we need a National Speed Limit sign on such a small stretch of road. It contains a bus stop, houses, a junction, a long bend and finally leads to a stretch with no path. In fact, I don't see a reason why the authority should look at the area it already provides 'free' bus passes to residents due to the road being dangerous.

Please act before more harm is done. Lives are irreplaceable.
