The 2007 Poppy Appeal fortnight, which ended on November 11, raised the magnificent sum of £314,512 in the Clevedon area. This is an excellent result, very nearly £3,000 up on the total for 2006 and thanks go from the local Royal British Legion members to the general public who, as in previous years supported the work so generously, and to the increasing number of people who volunteers to stand with collecting tins.If you would like to be associated with success, telephone me now on 01275 876242 and I will put your name down as a collector for 2008.With the above figure and other fund-raising events, so far this year just over £17,000 has been sent to headquarters from Clevedon.C J Norrish - Local Poppy Appeal organiser, Woodside Road, Clevedon
