I am trying to contact people who knew my uncle, Cyril Smith, of Rose Cottage, Brent Knoll, who died in about 1973/4. He collected Penny Farthing bikes, and restored them for people to ride. Many youngsters in the 1940s and 50s/60s were active riders at his Ordinary Club.I intend compiling a book of photos and memories of this remarkable character, and would like anyone who remembers him to contact me at simonew@iafrica.comThe Weston museum has seven of his bikes and some artworks. He also had a collection of guns and other antiques and specialised in living outside of the system. He was a remarkable character and much loved by villagers, and had friends all over the world. He grew his own food, kept chickens, built a steam motorbike and played the piano. He also had a good collection of motorbikes - does anyone know what happened to these?Simone Williams - Via email
