I SALUTE the way a police team of seven in the South Ward of Weston is re-arranging its shifts in a three-month trial in a bid to crackdown on major crime. I'm sure if the police had a stronger presence on the streets muggings, criminal damage, and car thefts would decrease. The majority undoubtedly want more bobbies on the beat. I believe the trial will be a great success and make the Government take note.D F COURTNEYVictoria Park, Weston* Pictured in the Mercury recently: Gareth Starr, Julie O'Reilly, Andy Valender, Rob Morgan, Matt Pearce, Steve Wakefield, Claire Sketchley and Heather Searle.
