I AM pleased to see that the former RAF Locking site is finally going to be redeveloped. However, the main focus seems to be on the building of 1,800 new houses. They will require the creation of over 2,000 new jobs on the site, which has been earmarked for regeneration to stop 36 per cent of Weston residents commuting out of the town each morning. It will be interesting to see if 10,000 new jobs are created on the site before any house building starts. We already have plenty of houses. What we need is more jobs for the people who already live here.* AS a member of the Campaign for Real Ale I am concerned that 'all you can drink' offers are still harming society and causing violence in our town centre. Irresponsible drinking cannot be tolerated and those who encourage it should realise the damage it does. Our young people are being increasingly affected by alcohol-related illnesses and the cost to our health services is unacceptable.COUNCILLOR MIKE KELLAWAY-MARRIOTT, Central Ward, Weston
