I was very moved at the generosity of all those involved in arranging and attending the Dance with Di. It was held to try to raise money towards a family holiday to Egypt that my son is so keen to go on. I have cancer in my spine and will one day be unable to take him to the places that fascinate him. I feel there is an urgency about getting as many wonderful memories for him and my husband to treasure. The evening was fabulous with delicious food, much of which was donated or given at cost. Up the Junction provided us with brilliant music to dance to. Friends, family, neighbours and strangers joined forces in what was a night to remember. Thanks go especially to Coral and Des Winder, Alison Walsh, Eric Tucker, Sally Hansford and Birds Bakery, to all who gave raffle prizes and donations, and to those who bought tickets. Thanks to Tom and Kieran for raising £65 by selling mints and flora at the end of the evening.Money raised has covered the cost of the holiday and will give us extra to cover things such as a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. I am humbled by everyone's generosity in making this mother's dream for her son come true.DI NYAMUNDA - Woodborough Road, Winscombe
