REGARDING the article from the residents of Beach Court and Fern Lodge concerning the apparent discomfort caused by the much-needed attraction of the Carters Steam Fair that has been with us for the past five weeks, I wish to say as the manager of the large hotel opposite this fair we have had not one single complaint. We have had in over 1,500 guests through our door during this attraction, and no comments of diesel fumes, smells of smoke, noise, etc.Surely these people should welcome attractions into the town following the loss of the pier? All my guests are of the same age as the 'whingers'.We have also on operating days (weather permitting) had our doors and windows open without a single whinge from our guests.WAYNE ENTWISTLE - General manager, Grand Atlantic Hotel, Beach Road, Weston
