LAST night the television news showed Weston seafront deserted in the rain.
The previous edition of the Mercury ran the story of a review by North Somerset to cut back on our museum and its cafe bar.
The TV pictures showed that inside the museum, it was packed with families enjoying themselves out of the rain. Why, oh why, does North Somerset want to close the cafe? It is a necessary facility that enhances the appeal of our town and complements the newer attractions.
North Somerset's approach seems to be if any hint of culture is involved get rid of it or close it.
