RE YOUR article in August 13 paper in Mailbox 'Major obstacle', has North Somerset Council taken over responsibility for the narrow roads in question?Probably not, hence the selfish, mindless parking.I suggest you contact North Somerset Council as I believe plenty of double yellow lines are required. Perhaps then the small local bus and fire engines, ambulances etc would be able to negotiate what reminds me of streets built before motor cars.To us who live in the original part of Portishead which 37 years ago was a village; it would appear the 'mirage' is a huge building which instead of a 'landmark' acts as a divide for the extreme high density buildings around the dock.It seems money was the goal for the marina development, with no interest in the people who were going to live in the high density development. Perhaps today's credit squeeze might help turn the tables, plus some new laws so that developments like on the Port Marine will be banned.MRS J MARTINThe Garstons, Portishead
