NORTH Somerset Roads. I was very interested to read your article in the North Somerset Times of January 20 regarding the above, and would impress on the people of North Somerset not to hold their breath.

Since January 2009, I and many others have, on a regular basis, been complaining to the council about the B3130 Bristol Road running through Wraxall, particularly the stretch between the Battle Axes pub and Wraxall Hill by Wraxall church.

This section of road has been severely damaged since the snow and bad winter weather of 2009, and has been on two occasions marked with yellow paint highlighting where repairs should be made, and both times the paint has worn off and no repairs carried out.

There have also been three accidents on this stretch during the year, resulting in two cars ending up on their roofs, one of which was a police car, and another carrying a young family of three who were extremely lucky to escape serious injury.

It is now very noticeable that cars are taking avoiding action to miss the holes, one of which can be more accurately described as a trench!

After all this time, a notice has now gone up stating that road repairs are to start on Monday January 25 for a period of four weeks, 12 months since it was first brought to the council's attention.

I don't know if you will publish any of these comments, but it should serve as a warning to other North Somerset residents.

Take any assurances from North Somerset District Council with a pinch of salt, which was another commodity in short supply.
