ON December 21, around 12 o'clock, a small white dog was tethered outside Woolworths in Weston. The dog had obviously been left by its owner who had gone off shopping. From the dog's demeanour it had been there for some time. Lying on the ground, it was continually whining and shivering quite severely with the cold. The animal also had a tight muzzle around its mouth. A steady flow of people were stopping to look at the dog as it was so obviously distressed. Could I appeal to the dog's owner to be more considerate in future and say that if he/she must leave the dog in the cold, put a coat on it?NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
