I note with interest that over the last few weeks there has been an outcry at the way local councillors appear to have 'sold their soul' in allegedly not putting the interests of local residents first and that therefore councillors should be beware with elections looming in May.Indeed it has been repeated by the public at council meetings that councillors are self interested and even condemned as being too old for the job and should therefore consider their positions, again with the looming elections.Presumably, this means that with many residents being unhappy with their councillors, Portishead, will benefit from numerous applications, preferably younger it would seem, to take over the role of councillors and to fulfil those roles in ways that they see as being far more beneficial to the town.Perhaps the rest of Portishead residents should wait and see.RON HAZELTON - Roath Road, Portishead
