I read your article recently regarding placing a Skateboard Park in the Lake Grounds and had to express my opinion. Whilst I agree we should have places for young people to congregate and enjoy themselves, I don't think the Lake Grounds is the place for a skateboard park. There are already too many incidents of youngsters hanging around, drinking in the summer, and the Lake Grounds is a peaceful place where one can go and sit down, read a book, watch the cricket, etc., and I believe a skateboard park would disrupt this peace. I am also concerned that it will become somewhere where you feel concerned to go, in the day and evening, due to the large number of young adults hanging around, which may be innocent but it makes you feel uncomfortable walking past them. When I go to Tesco's in Clevedon there are always large numbers of young adults hanging around and it feels intimidating. There are a lot of age groups that use the Lake Grounds, including children and young adults who can have fun in other ways such as playing footy, rounders, having a picnic, riding their bikes, etc., without having to put a skateboard park there. Just my opinion, but as a place I enjoy walking through and go running around, I would like to see it kept somewhere where I don't feel afraid. Megan ArrowsmithVia e-mail
