WE have just returned from an excellent week in Weston where, despite the work on the promenade, we enjoyed our walks along the prom. The pier is now one of the best in England, and the bar food is excellent, particularly in the Claremont Vaults. You have a theatre and a concert venue to be proud of, and your sands are always clean. Imagine my surprise on reading a quarter page advertisement in the Coventry Telegraph, which I assume was placed by the Somerset tourist board, stating that "long sandy beaches and coastal resorts such as Minehead or Burnham-on Sea contrast with the dramatic rocky Exmoor coastline."Come on Weston, you must challenge this, be proud of your town which has far more to offer than either of these two resorts. Sell yourselves, don't leave it to others.JEAN DAVENPORT - Coventry
