I WONDER for whom the 16,000 residents that have signed a petition against the Henry Boot plans for the Tropicana voted at last May's council election. The 23 North Somerset seats that represent Weston and Worle changed to mostly Conservatives. The Liberal Democrats and Labour only have three councillors each. I find this amazing, as on TV the Sunday before the election, Peter Bryant, Conservative, stated that Weston did not need a swimming pool, as only five per cent would use it, whereas Mike Bell (Lib/Dem) and Derek Kraft (Lab) both said Weston does need a swimming pool with a retractable roof. So it seems people living in Weston and Worle did not want the Tropicana to be replaced by a large swimming pool, otherwise how can you explain the huge majority of the Conservatives, where once were mainly Lib/Dems for these wards?MRS JUNE HOW - Connaught Place, Weston
