SEEING the letter in your last edition about dogs in Grove Park reminded me of the introduction of poop-scoops which came with a fanfare of trumpets.

There were also notices on lamp posts telling us all that there would be fines for those who abused the new system. Dog wardens were patrolling the town ensuring that whoopsies were cleared up and no doubt dishing out the fines. It seems so long ago now that I tune into the Antiques Roadshow to see if there are any poop-scoops brought to the experts.

Nowadays we have to play dodge the mess as we walk on pavements - in the dark this becomes a little difficult. Someone who visited us in the evening left Fido's mess on our hall carpet - not a pretty sight or smell for that matter.

I do not want to put my foot into the feelings of dog owners, but a little consideration would be helpful, and I would not have to put my foot in the mess either.
