I live at Woodacre, Portishead. I have a teenager and a child on the way. I really was looking forward to using the pool in the summer with the baby and find it is a meeting place for a lot of people. People seem to come from everywhere to go there and it would be a great shame for it not to exist. During other times in the year, maybe a floor could be constructed on the pool to hold outdoor plays and functions on the site. Seating is already there really. Skate park - would love that too ... near the marina would be nice to include young people rather than excluding or NOT understanding them. It is no wonder that there are problems between the age populations. Where I come from there was always plenty of children's activities (Seattle USA) ... this made the whole environment thrive. It is a shame that the older people of Portishead are so 'stuffy' at times. Yes, I am blunt ... but we should be a true community allowing EVERYONE including the teens and children to participate in life. The town seems a bit boring for my standards at the moment.
