I WAS sad to hear dog walkers had been banned on all beaches in Weston. Most dog walkers are responsible people. Living in Sand Bay there is a good beach for dog walkers. After April 11 I expect more dog walkers will visit Sand Bay. I thank the pensioners in Sand Bay who clean the roads and beach, but despite repeated requests there are not enough litter/dog bins in Sand Bay. Frequently the litter bins overflow and dog bins are full of litter too. If there are more dog walkers in Sand Bay perhaps this will mean more bins!It would be wonderful too if First could actually extend the summer timetable to start at Easter instead of the end of May and finish at the end of October rather than at present. It is a silly move banning dogs because you are banning families too. Weston needs families and tourists badly, but councillors as a whole don't visit Weston or Sand Bay to experience being a dog walker or tourist. It would be good if the council could put notices for horse riders too, reminding them that the footpath by the beach is for people not horses. We understood horses were supposed to ride on the beach. Putting a sign in the Commodore Hotel car park for horse riders is stupid. Horses don't ride round car parks. Horse riders don't pick up their animals' mess. Most dog walkers do.PATRICIA HEANEY - Beach Road, Sand Bay
