IN 1959, after joining the Royal Navy, I was sent to HMS Mercury, the communications training school, in Leydene, Hampshire.
At that school was a group of deferred National Servicemen also doing their basic training.
One of these National Servicemen, Roger Evans, became a friend of mine and I did on one occasion visit Weston with him, staying at his home, for a weekend. I lost touch with Roger after we left the training school.
I know he lived in Weston and worked locally before, and after, his Naval Service. He will now be around 70 years of age.
Is it possible you could print this in an effort to make contact with him again.
