I AM writing to state my views on the comments by Cllr Ap Rees on the amenities that Weston has to offer holidaymakers and residents.Does this man live in cuckoo land or is he seeing things that the rest of us can't see? What residents can see is the demise of the old pier, Knightstone Baths, Knightstone Theatre, the Rozel Bandstand, the Tropicana, and now to cap it all, the Grand Pier.I would love to see through his rose-coloured glasses. Could he inform us which optician he visits, as it might help us all to see things we are obviously missing?Where are the amenities in the winter for the youth and children of Weston? They can't go paddling in the Marine Lake at that time of year. Does he have an answer to that question? If the council had covered the Tropicana 20 years ago they would have made their money back four fold.MRS H PEARCE - Stafford Road, Weston
