A YOUNG dog lover is campaigning to stop fireworks.Emily Wright, of Manor Gardens, Locking, has written to the Weston & Somerset Mercury about the effect fireworks had on her pet on Bonfire Night, New Year's Eve and at Christmas.The Christ Church Primary School pupil wrote:"I'm Emily Wright. I'm 11 years old and have a dog called Sam, who is four."Sam is terrified of fireworks. Every Bonfire Night, New Year's Eve and Christmas, I have to sit with Sam because he is left shaking with fright."I am writing this letter to ask you if you can stop the fireworks? You will be saving lots of animal lives."Emily Wright* When asked why she felt Emily was compelled to put pen to paper, mum Derry said: "She is passionate about animals and is sensitive about them getting upset. She is a very caring girl.
