WHY doesn't the council listen to the townspeople for once and scrub the horrible monstrosity that Henry Boot is wishing on us? We don't need another hotel and all the other things wrapped up in the monstrosity. For goodness sake listen to the people of Weston before it is too late. And leave our town centre alone - it is one of the nicer parts of Weston and is used a lot by locals and visitors alike and the manager of the Sovereign Centre can take his eyes off it and leave it as it is. And many thanks to the Woodland Trust for replacing the fence around the donkey field in Uphill - the suggestion some time ago that we had a beech hedge round it wanted squashing even as it was aired! With the lovely fence that is now round the donkey field, we will still be able to see the carpets of flowers starting with the snowdrops which we would not have been able to see if the beech hedge had materialised - thank goodness it didn't. The donkey field is an important part of Uphill and greatly admired for all the various flowers that grow there in their turn. Even the cows that are there at the moment are very useful in cropping the grass ready for the flowers.PAT WILSON - Underhill Drive, Uphill
