CREDIBLE objections to the new site for the mosque in Weston could have been because of concern for the choice of location, the opening hours, parking or the noise levels that may have had an effect others living or working nearby.

Instead I am disgusted that so many people felt they could object on the basis of which faith was practiced in the building or by what colour skin the people using the facility would have.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Sadly it shows how many uneducated and naive people we have in our town.
Every successful community needs bases where individuals with similar interests or requirements can meet.
Any facilities that support the strengthening of society should be encouraged.
Ask yourself this question: Would you be objecting if it was the local Hindu or Christian community who wanted to move or expand their premises?
Or are you basing your views on the fact that a few individuals who claimed to be of Muslim religion have committed terrible acts of crime.
Please open your eyes and realise that every faith has individuals who choose to commit unlawful acts and then base their reasons on their faith but we must not judge every member of those faiths as accomplices.
I want to raise my children in a society where every individual has the right to practice what ever religion they like and live their life however they choose as long as it is within the country's laws. Just like these people choose to use and sadly exploit the freedom of speech that we all enjoy in Britain.
Weston clearly has a number people whose shameful views could or would influence my children's development into understanding and becoming reasonable adults and the sooner they realise that their outdated and frankly stupid prejudices have no place in today's world the better for everyone.
