I HOPE all the threats of Weston Playhouse Theatre closure have been put to rest. Is there anyone who can confirm the situation at present? I have just had the pleasure of spending Sunday at the Playhouse, both in the audience and behind stage with others looking after over 200 dancers, singers and actors, all ages represented, from the Jackie Fox School of Dance. They quick-changed, tapped, sang and shimmied their way through an amazing programme of dance and musical theatre to entertain the captivated audience. Having been a part of this show for five years now, the standards never cease to amaze me, the shows are incredible. How on earth would all these brilliant local schools accommodate their audiences and have the experience of live theatre if this local resource is taken away. The children and adults spend hours learning and loving their craft, they choose to spend their time wisely and do not impact on the local community in a negative way that causes the council to spend money, clearing up graffiti, vandalism or the odd bit of drug misuse. This money that 'could be saved' should not because Weston Playhouse with its wonderful staff, backstage and box office (thank you), is vitally important to thousands of people who deserve this theatre to remain open in Weston. Thank you Jackie, Carrie and Vicky for another wonderful show from four very tired Bullock girls!TRACI BULLOCK - Lower Weare
