WHAT a bunch of spoilsports to read that diocesan chiefs have banned lovely garden gnomes from All Saints Church in Station Road, Wrington, to preserve the dignity of churchyards.I hope Bath and Wells will see the light, and realise our elderly, and less well-off cannot afford fresh flowers these days and prefer silk and plastic flowers that last a lot longer. Also a cheerful garden gnome adds colour to our graveyards and brings some sunshine to our churchyards.D F COURTNEY - Victoria Park, Weston
