AFTER the hasty and shabby decision to move hundreds of jobs out of Weston, it should be pretty clear to local people that the Conservatives running North Somerset Council know the price of everything, and the value of nothing.

It's bad enough that we in Weston are saddled with councillors who are deaf to the people who elected them, and blind to everything but the opportunity to evade responsibility for their actions. What makes the situation worse is that we also have an MP who sits on the fence, Mr Penrose is an intelligent and thoughtful man, and I have no doubt that he has a view on what is right and what is wrong here. Is it not time for him to stand up and be counted? If not, then what exactly is an MP for?
It's a simple question, "Are you with your Conservative Party colleagues on this John, or are you with the people who elected you?" We don't want a running commentary on the situation thank very much, we want you to stand with your electorate and put the interests of this town before party politics. As my dear old dad used to say, "Those who are not for us - are against us".
