In response to Mr N A Tucker (North Somerset Times October 11) when will he realise that he will not achieve his aim of having a new pool in Nailsea by his constant criticism of Backwell Pool. I also cannot understand why he refers to the people of Backwell and 'their' pool as the facility is there for everyone to use and very popular with many. It was made clear at the public meeting on September 19 that North Somerset Council just do not have the money to build a new pool anywhere in the county so please support what we have and stop moaning.Recently there have been a number of public pool closures without another one being encouraged by a so-called swimming enthusiast.
