Though the road is a bus route, a moderate hill and accesses a part of Weston where many retired and elderly citizens live, there has been no attempt to clear or grit the roads or pavements above Grove Park.
Since the snow, the buses have not run, the refuse has not been collected (much to the delight of our abundant foxes and rats) and traffic and pedestrians have been put at risk. We have seen a gritting lorry travel along Cecil Road into South Road and beyond, with neither the plough at the front or the gritter at the back deployed, and the commercial sized refuse bins at a neighbouring residential home have been emptied on time by the commercial company employed to do so.
It is inspirational to hear that nurses are walking miles into work to keep our hospital open, and what a contrast to this apathetic performance by North Somerset Council. Surely where there is a will, there is a way.
