I HAVE read your story regarding local post office closures with interest. Silverfox Supplies are a small business in Kewstoke and we use the local post office. However, I have been down to the post office today and read the proposed closure posters in the window. It goes on to explain that the closures are Government policy, and suggests using the 'nearby' post offices in either Worle High Street or Milton. The suggestions do not make sense to me. Both Worle and Milton are not walking distance, and there is no bus service to either of these places. The only option is to drive a car to them. Can someone explain exactly how this is reducing our carbon footprint as encouraged by the Government? Not to mention the local service lost to our senior citizens, etc., but maybe I am missing the point?LAURENCE COLLINS - Kewstoke Road, WestonI READ with considerable dismay that there are plans to close post offices in Church Road, Kewstoke, Loxton, North Worle, Severn Road and Uphill. I hope as many people as possible contribute to the consultation expressing the view that these proposed closures should not go ahead. I have also written to the minister responsible, Pat McFadden MP, explaining the damaging impact these proposed closures would have on the community and that there is no public support in Weston for these closures.DAVID BRADLEY - Labour Prospective MP, Weston
