I WOULD like to see strong moves by the people of Weston to challenge the current council and take over the town and run it how the people want it run. For a start, the Tropicana would be reopened with a sliding roof so it would be an all-year-round place to visit, and the old model railway that was there could be returned. The town should have a covered pedestrian area to incorporate a bus and coach station and various attractions and a land train serving it from the bus station and the rail station. As for the Locking Road coach park, this could be turned into an area for shows such as the steam fair that is currently on the Beach Lawns. The land by the station could have a theatre built on it - this would be nice as people coming to see a show could use the train and get off outside the theatre - and the Locking Road coach park could be used as a car park for the patrons. The old Playhouse could then be used for something else. MR R G EYERS - Bryon Road, Weston
