I have been a regular swimmer at the very wonderful open air pool for many years and therefore read your article in the September 26 issue with interest.Figures detailing costs and revenue fail to mention that one cannot purchase a swim card there. I have to go to Parish Wharf to do so. I have always wondered why. Inevitably this will mean that revenue will be reduced. The article's final sentence is telling. When the lunch time closures were introduced a few years ago, the reason given at the time was to 'ensure as many people can use the pool as possible'. If there was another reason, why was it not made clear then? The open air pool is a unique resource and brings in many tourists. It is very well run and has been a pleasure to swim in again this summer. I hope it will continue for many years to come.Sylvia Holliman - Via email
