OUR scout troop was lucky to have five of our scouts selected to represent Somerset and Sedgemoor at the 21st International Jamboree commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Scout Association. It was necessary for us to raise enough money to pay for the costs of our scouts attending the jamboree and I am pleased to say that with the help of all sorts of people and local firms and a couple of charitable funds, we have reached our target. I wish to thank everyone who helped in any way. We are very grateful and perhaps you would be kind enough to publish this letter as some of the donations were made anonymously. This is a world event and many of the scouts attending the jamboree come from the Third World. If anyone feels like making a donation to assist them, they can send me a cheque made payable to The Scout Association.N R HANDLEYGROUP TREASURERWeare & District Scout GroupByways, Allerton, Axbridge BS26 2NG
