I WISH to thank, on behalf of the RNLI Weston branch, all the people who supported our annual lifeboat open day and lifeboat pull at Anchor Head.Despite the weather they were treated to an excellent display of lifeboat handling and the training exercise with the search and rescue helicopter was awesome.I also wish to thank those who gave so generously on our lifeboat pull, along Weston seafront afterwards, which raised £1,000 towards the crew training appeal, and also thank John and Elaine, of the Claremont Vaults, who fed us throughout the day. Finally, without the help of the Coastguard, Avon Ambulance Service, Avon Fire and Rescue, Weston Sea Cadets and the Royal Air Force, the day wouldn't have happened so our grateful thanks to them. We only exist to save lives in dangerous and difficult circumstances through public donations.ANDREW CLAPP - Via e-mail
