The most dreadful bus service

I HAVE never written to the Weston Mercury before, but I feel I have to make a comment, about what must be the most dreadful bus service I have ever heard of. For years my wife has been catching the bus to and from work in Bristol, for which she pays for an annual ticket, and work permitting, I have often accompanied my wife to the bus stop in the mornings.I have lost count of the number of times the buses are late (at least three out of every five days), with no explanation and certainly no apology from the drivers, the majority of whom are surly and rude, or they don't turn up at all (often). This also happens on the return journeys in the evenings and whenever possible I drive to Bristol to collect my wife after work in order to give her a break from waiting for a bus which will probably be late if it turns up at all, and will probably be filthy inside, which I suppose one can expect a certain amount of towards the end of the day, so why are they filthy first thing in the morning as well?I have just collected my wife this evening from the town centre because the bus driver refused to finish the rest of the journey, not for the first time, because he was half an hour late. My wife pays for the whole journey and not part of it as the driver sees fit. To add insult to injury, the bus company has the bare-faced nerve to have recently increased the fares, but then of course they can, because no-one does anything about this shoddy and badly run company. I for one will never rely on this so-called bus service, it's a joke.Here's a word of advice to anyone thinking of coming to Weston or Bristol for a holiday or day out - don't forget to bring your car, or come by train, or taxi, or walk, or even fly and you will be most welcome, but don't rely on the local bus service because either you won't get here or won't be able to get home or be able to see anything of the area while you are here.Never mind Firstbus, they should change the name to Lastbus or Nobus.NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
