Many people like myself walk daily around the Lake Grounds and I have to concur with Councillor Pasley's remark in respect of the condition of the Lake Grounds. This is worst I have ever seen it and year by year I have seen it deteriorate. So, the sluice gates were open just before Christmas - by my calculations that is some weeks ago and a lot of rain has fallen in that time. I have to ask myself whether this phenomenal rain fall only applies to Portishead and not to North Somerset Council! When is Portishead going to get the attention it deserves, we have little of the original town left and every part of that should be preserved, not left to decay or be built on. The waterlogged section by the playing area must be attended to as a matter of urgency before any more money is spent making it 'look pretty' or you might just as well throw the residents' money in the lake and let the ducks eat it.
