I SEE BBC News (Somerset) is just reporting that there will be a six month delay in starting to demolish the Tropicana. So now it looks like work will start spring 2010.
Most of us hope it will never happen! With the Royal Pier and Madeira Cove Hotels closing, and Grand Atlantic looking tired and weary, who in their right mind wants (needs?) a huge hotel on the beach?
Councillors - there's still time to throw it out. A super children's play area with good toilets and restaurants could be made of the existing complex, at a fraction of the cost and without desecration of our seafront.
