THIS is a plea from a resident of Weston concerning the Tropicana. I am not writing about the legal aspect of the proposed development but the moral aspect.I am sure many people would like the idea of the leisure facilities proposed but most would feel that a multi-storey hotel on the beach is too high a price to pay. Weston bay is a magnificent sweep of bay and is the focal point of Weston. I believe a nine storey hotel built on the beach would despoil an area of natural beauty. It is unlikely that Weston people would allow this to happen. However I have a suggestion which would satisfy all parties: build the proposed pool on the Tropicana site and find another site in Weston on which to build the hotel and some of the other leisure amenities.NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
